At least one person was found dead Tuesday at a San Juan Capistrano mobile home park, where responding sheriff’s deputies apparently opened fire and wounded a possible suspect.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a “domestic incident” at about 7:30 a.m. in the 32000 block of Alipaz Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that “a homicide had occurred.”
Sheriff’s officials also confirmed that a shooting involving deputies occurred at the scene, but no details were immediately available.
KCAL9 reported from the scene that two bodies may have been found at the mobile home park. Deputies then apparently encountered a possible suspect, leading to a shooting that sent the person to a hospital in unknown condition, the station reported.
There was no indication of any deputies being injured.
Sheriff’s officials were expected to hold a late-morning news conference to provide more details on the homicide and deputy shooting.
