A brush fire that erupted Monday on the south edge of Anza scorched roughly a half-acre before Cal Fire aircraft contained it.

The non-injury blaze was first reported about 4:20 p.m. in the area of Lafayette and Delor roads, near the boundary separating Riverside and San Diego counties, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said multiple engine and hand crews were sent to the location, but due to poor road conditions and access challenges, firefighters were unable to reach the brusher until 5 p.m.

Two Cal Fire air tankers and a water-dropping helicopter reached the site ahead of ground crews and initiated a series of runs that largely contained the blaze, according to reports from the scene.

No structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
