Four people were injured Friday, one critically, in a four-vehicle wreck on Interstate 15 in Temecula.

The multi-vehicle crash was reported at 1:48 p.m. Friday on southbound I-15, near the entrance ramp from Rancho California Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency reported that two SUVs and two sedans impacted at the location, causing one to flip onto its roof.

Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location 10 minutes later and triaged the victims. The driver of the overturned SUV suffered life-threatening injuries, and the occupants of the other three vehicles suffered minor to moderate injuries, according to reports from the scene.

All of the patients were taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment.

As of 2:20 p.m., the Rancho California on-ramp to southbound I-15 was shut down while the CHP conducted a preliminary investigation and cleared the wreckage.
