A homeless man died Monday morning after he was struck by a vehicle in the Lake Balboa area of Los Angeles.

The crash occurred about 2:20 a.m. at 17231 Sherman Way, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

The man, believed about 30 years old, was walking in the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle, the officer said.

Paramedics took the man to a hospital where he died, the officer said.

There was no indication of any arrests, he said.

News video from the scene showed an officer administering a field sobriety test to a man and it showed paramedics performing CPR on the injured pedestrian.
