A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Thursday in Santa Ana.

A 25-year-old woman walking in a crosswalk was struck by a car just before 1 p.m. Thursday by a vehicle attempting to turn left onto MacArthur Boulevard from Birch Street, according to Santa Ana police Officer Natalie Garcia.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, Garcia said.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, Garcia said. It does not appear alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision, Garcia said.
