A man who was struck and killed by a vehicle on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in La Crescenta was identified Saturday by county authorities.

The collision was reported around 9 p.m. Wednesday and California Highway Patrol officers were called to the freeway near the La Crescenta Avenue exit where they learned a pedestrian was running on the freeway and was struck by a vehicle, CHP Officer A. De La Rosa told City News Service.

The victim was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office as Tajaldine Hassan. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.

The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the eastbound portion of the freeway in the vicinity of the crash while they investigated the collision.
