An off-duty Los Angeles police officer discharged his firearm while cleaning it, authorities said Saturday.
The shooting occurred at about 5 p.m. Thursday at the officer’s home. The officer was assigned to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga station.
No officers or community members were injured as a result of the discharge, and the department’s Force Investigation Division was sent to the scene to conduct an investigation, police said.
