A 60-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Wilmington was identified Saturday.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office identified the pedestrian was Heidi Gangi, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the freeway near the Anaheim Street exit at approximately 9:14 p.m. Wednesday where they learned a white hatchback struck the pedestrian, who was walking in one of the freeway’s middle lanes, CHP Officer A. De La Rosa told City News Service.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of four lanes of the northbound freeway and the Anaheim Street exit for several hours while the CHP investigated the collision.
