Authorities Friday sought the public’s help to find the hit-and-run driver involved in a crash in Canoga Park that critically injured another motorist.

The collision occurred Saturday about 1 a.m. on Topanga Canyon Boulevard north of Parthenia Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

“A white Acura 4-door sedan traveling northbound on Topanga Canyon Boulevard … sideswiped a gray 2022 BMW sedan, causing the driver of the BMW to lose control and collide with a pole,” an LAPD statement said. “The white Acura fled from the scene without stopping to identify themselves or to render aid to the other driver.”

Paramedics took the BMW driver to a hospital for treatment of “severe” injuries, police said.

A standing reward of up to $25,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a non-fatal hit-and-run.

Police released security video of the crash, and urged anyone with information on the case to call LAPD Valley Traffic Division Officers Reyes at 818-644-8114 or Santos at 818-644-8024. Tipsters may also call 877-LAPD-247 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS, or use the website www.lacrimestoppers.org.
