Three people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and 23 were arrested for operating a vehicle without a license or a suspended or revoked license Saturday during a driver’s license/DUI operation in Riverside.
The checkpoint was conducted between 8 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday at Central Avenue east of Riverside Avenue, according to the Riverside Police Department.
A total of 1,141 vehicles were screened during the operation.
The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads, police said.
