The man ejected and killed when his vehicle rolled over in El Monte near the San Bernardino (10) Freeway was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The crash was reported at 11:47 p.m. Wednesday and officers from the El Monte Police Department and California Highway Patrol responded to Santa Anita Avenue, near the eastbound San Bernardino Freeway, where they learned 31-year-old Jose Espinoza was driving near the bus station on Santa Anita Avenue when the vehicle flew off the roadway into the Rio Hondo Watershed and he was ejected, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel found Espinoza in the wash, where he was pronounced dead.
It was not immediately known if speed or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
