An 88-year-old woman diagnosed with dementia was reported missing after last being seen Friday in Gardena.
Mary Louis Spates was last seen in the 16000 block of Denker Avenue, between Western and Normandie avenues, between 11 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Friday after possibly walking out of her residence, according to the Gardena Police Department.
Spates has been diagnosed with dementia and hypertension, and requires medication. She has become confused in the past, believing she lived in Perris, where Spates attempted to travel there by herself.
It was unclear what she was last seen wearing.
