A 23-year-old man was charged Tuesday with a deadly crash into a garage in La Habra.
Rumualdo Ajxup Chay was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated with a sentencing enhancement for fleeing the scene of a vehicular manslaughter.
Chay did not enter a plea Tuesday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana and his arraignment was rescheduled for Oct. 25 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton. Bail was set at $100,000.
Chay was accused of killing Francisco G. on Friday by “accelerating into a garage with enough force to collide through the back wall and while a person was standing inside the garage,” according to the criminal complaint.
Further details were not immediately available. Police and prosecutors did not immediately respond to requests for more information about the crash.
