A 22-year-old man suspected of committing a series of armed robberies at food trucks and a 7-Eleven store in the San Fernando Valley and North Hollywood has been taken into custody, police said Tuesday.

The robberies occurred between Sept. 8 and 11, prompting North Hollywood detectives and Gang Enforcement Detail officers to execute a search warrant Wednesday at a Los Angeles residence, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Detectives later identified the suspect as Jesus Garcia-Sotelo, who is accused of committing two robberies in North Hollywood, two in Foothill, two in the Mission area and two more in Van Nuys.

“During the search, clothing worn by the suspect during all eight robberies was recovered. One of the suspect’s vehicles, which was also linked to additional crimes being investigated by Mission Area Robbery detectives, was seized as part of the investigation,” the police department said in a statement.

Garcia-Sotelo was booked on suspicion of robbery and was being held without bail.

Anyone with information regarding the robberies was urged to contact North Hollywood Division detectives at 818-754-8410. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.
