A 70 year-old man was severely injured after a hit-and-run collision in North Hollywood, and police sought the public’s help Friday in locating the suspect.
The accident occurred around 1 a.m. Wednesday when a dark-colored sedan traveling southbound on Lankershim Boulevard struck the man, who was crossing the street in a wheelchair near the intersection of Erwin Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The driver failed to stop, identify themselves, and/or render aid to the injured person and fled the scene southbound Lankershim Boulevard at a high rate of speed,” the department reported.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries, police said.
The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
