A pedestrian attempting to cross the Golden State (5) Freeway was struck and killed by a vehicle in Arleta Saturday.
The collision was reported at 1:44 a.m. and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound freeway and the Osborne Street off-ramp where they found the man lying near the slow lane of the freeway, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
