A search was continuing Monday for a 45-year-old man suspected of shooting and seriously injuring his ex-girlfriend — a Metro bus driver — near the Thai Town area.

Dorian Holt is suspected in the shooting that occurred around 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of North Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police initially said that the victim was on a break and had parked the bus at the location to meet with Holt, but they said Monday that Holt arrived at the location “unannounced.” Holt allegedly shot the victim in the face.

“There were no other occupants on the bus at the time of the incident. Although the victim was on duty as an MTA bus driver, her duties were not a factor in the incident,” police said in a statement.

The driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Holt was last seen on foot wearing a black sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and a black baseball cap with a white LA logo.

“Metro is deeply saddened by the act of domestic violence that seriously injured a Metro employee while she was on the sidewalk during a bus layover near Hollywood and Vermont streets,” Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo said in a statement Saturday. “Metro appreciates the quick response by the Los Angeles Fire Department, which transported our employee to a nearby hospital.”

Anyone with information regarding the shooting was urged to contact LAPD Northeast detectives at 323-561-3324. Calls during non-business hours or weekends should be directed to 877-527-3247. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or lacrimestoppers.org.
