Firefighters were in defensive mode while battling the flames that engulfed a vacant, two-story commercial building in downtown Los Angeles Monday morning.
The fire was reported at 3:57 a.m. at 1350 S. Flower St., said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.
“This is now a defensive operation with firefighters deploying large diameter hand lines from the ground and the roof of adjacent buildings,” Stewart said.
Flames were through the roof when firefighters arrived, she said.
No injuries were reported.
