A motorist was rescued after being seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in the North Hills area of Los Angeles Saturday.

The crash occurred at 4:57 p.m. Saturday at 15100 W. Parthenia St., west of Kester Avenue, said the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Margaret Stewart.

One vehicle came to rest in the Pacoima Wash, Stewart said. Firefighters originally thought that driver was trapped in the vehicle but that was not the case, and the motorist was brought up safely in a litter basket.

The motorist was taken to a hospital by ambulance in serious condition, she said. The person’s age and gender were not available.

A man was assessed at the scene with minor injuries, Stewart said.
