A convicted robber was charged Wednesday with kidnapping a woman in Fullerton.

Arturo Urbina Jr., 30, of Los Angeles was charged with a felony count of kidnapping. He did not enter a plea in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana on Wednesday, and his arraignment was scheduled for Jan. 6 in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.

Urbina was ordered held without bail.

Urbina was accused of kidnapping the woman Dec. 9, according to the criminal complaint, which alleged the defendant was convicted of robbery in federal court in June 2013.

A woman told police in Fullerton on Dec. 11 that she was sexually assaulted and kidnapped in Fullerton, police said. She said she met the man a few days earlier through acquaintances, police said.

Urbina, who was accused by the alleged victim to have been armed with several guns, was arrested Monday in Los Angeles County, police said.

Urbina led police on a chase that ended when the vehicle he was driving slammed into a pole in Torrance, police added.
