One person was killed and three were hospitalized, including one who was seriously injured, in a three-vehicle collision Wednesday west of the South Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles.
Firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department were called at 1:53 a.m. to 250 W. 53rd St., east of Broadway, where they found the victims — one of whom firefighters had to free from the wreckage, LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, Stewart said. One person was taken to a hospital in serious condition and two were in fair condition.
Five other passengers chose not to go the hospital, Stewart said.
