A 45-year-old Cerritos man died while in the Theo Lacy Jail, Orange County sheriff’s officials said Monday.
Anthony Creston Brown was booked Friday by La Palma police on suspicion of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia as well as on an outstanding warrant out of Los Angeles County for theft, sheriff’s deputies said.
Brown was found unconscious in his cell Sunday afternoon and was later pronounced dead at the Theo Lacy jail at 4:31 p.m., deputies said. Authorities said a cause of death will be determined following an autopsy, which will include a check for drugs in his system, but the death was not considered suspicious.
