Police sought the public’s assistance Monday in locating a hit-and-run driver who severely injured a 30-year-old pedestrian in the Canoga Park area.
The man was struck around 5:30 p.m. Thursday by a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows being driven east on Vanowen Street at De Soto Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck.
The motorist continued traveling eastbound on Vanowen without stopping to render aid, police said.
“Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a traffic collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene as required by law,” police said in a statement.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he received treatment for severe injuries.
