A fire that erupted Tuesday in a mobile home south of Interstate 10 in Cabazon caused major damage before it was stopped.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 10:42 a.m. in the area of Acacia Street and Bonita Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the single-wide trailer, which was not occupied at the time, sending up a smoke column visible throughout the Banning Pass.
Firefighters quickly established hose lays, containing the blaze shortly after 11 a.m.
The fire was fully extinguished minutes later.
It was unclear whether anyone had been living in the mobile home.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
