A 37-year-old man was fatally shot early Friday in South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers from the Southwest Division were called at 1 a.m. Friday to 3400 block of South Ninth Avenue, near Jefferson Boulevard, where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the head, an LAPD officer told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead.
The victim was identified later Friday by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Jonathan Vasquez Rivas. His city of residence was not provided.
No suspect information was provided.
