Police Saturday are searching for a woman who allegedly wounded a man in the Westlake District in what police say was a gang-related shooting.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Rampart Division responded at 1:43 a.m. Saturday to Fifth Street and Westlake Boulevard regarding a shots fired call. When they arrived, officers learned the 45-year-old victim was seeking shelter in a building when he was approached by the suspect, who fired a gun at him, striking him several times, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel in stable condition, police said.
The suspect ran away from after the shooting and is being sought by police, authorities said. There was no suspect description.
