Police sought the public’s help Tuesday in identifying a motorist involved in a hit-and-crash in South Los Angeles that left a wheelchair-bound man in his 60s severely injured.
A small, dark-colored westbound SUV on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard struck a pedestrian on Jan. 11, at about 6:20 p.m., as the victim was crossing at Dalton Avenue in a wheelchair, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The driver failed to stop and render aid and fled southbound on Harvard Boulevard, police said.
“Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he is still in intensive care,” according to the police statement.
