A Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter hoisted an ailing hiker from a remote area of Shadow Hills and took him to a hospital for treatment Saturday.
The rescuers were summoned at 2:38 p.m. Saturday to an area of the Hostetter Fire Road, which intersects La Tuna Canyon Road, according to the LAFD’s Lyndsey Lantz.
The 42-year-old man was awake and alert when firefighters arrived in the air and on the ground to coordinate the rescue, Lantz said.
