A man accused of molesting an underage girl in Blythe in 2017 pleaded guilty to 11 felony counts Friday.

Jesus Galvan, 58, entered guilty pleas to two counts of lewd acts with a child under 14, three counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 with force, one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object, one count of oral copulation with a person between 11-13, two counts of lewd act on a child between 14-15, one count of unlawful intercourse by an adult and one count of possessing an assault weapon Friday at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, according to Amy McKenzie of the Riverside County District Attorney’s office and case records.

Galvan is set to be sentenced on May 30.

According to a declaration in support of arrest, investigators received a report from Galvan’s ex-partner in February 2017 stating that she believed Galvan was having an “inappropriate relationship” with her daughter’s friend.

The declaration states that Facebook conversations showed the anonymous victim saying she had sex with Jesus 11 times and discussing the possibility of pregnancy, including a plan to have someone else state that the baby would be theirs.

In an interview with Galvan, the defendant reportedly admitted “things happened [with the victim] that other people would look down upon,” according to the declaration, which also claimed that investigators found a video of Galvan and the victim making inappropriate gestures while lying down on a bed next to each other.

Elsewhere in the declaration, investigators said two of Galvan’s children witnessed improper behavior between Galvan and the victim, with one also seeing text messages between the two parties that she believed to be inappropriate.

Although the victim “denied anything inappropriate happened between her and [Galvan]” in a forensic interview, the investigation concluded that an illegal sexual relationship occurred.

Case records show that Galvan was arrested July 28, 2017. He was taken into custody without bail and is currently being held at the Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
