An 18-year-old man, along with a male juvenile suspect, were taken into custody in connection with an armed robbery at Canyon Springs High School in Moreno Valley, authorities announced Wednesday.
Deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to school in the 23000 block of Cougar Canyon Drive around 5:10 p.m. Tuesday to reports of an armed robbery involving two suspects, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators identified the adult suspect as Norah Arias of Moreno Valley, while the juvenile suspect remained unidentified due to his age.
“The firearm used in the incident was located in a vehicle parked on campus,” sheriff’s officials said in a statement.
Arias was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of possessing a firearm and ammunition on a school campus, while the juvenile was also arrested for robbery and possessing a firearm and ammunition on school grounds.
