Los Angeles Fire Department personnel rescued a man who was stranded on a concrete alcove adjacent to the rising Los Angels River Thursday in Boyle Heights.

LAFD crews responded at 3:05 a.m. to 330 LA River where they coordinated air, water, and ground resources for a high angle rescue of the victim, who was stranded in a “precarious position” on the concrete alcove adjacent to the rising river, said LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

The victim was able to climb to safety via a ladder lowered over a concrete wall bounding the river and is currently out of danger, Lantz said.
