An 82-year-old man was behind bars Friday on charges of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl in Anaheim, authorities said Friday.
Manuel Salazar was charged Thursday with oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 years or younger, lewd or lascivious act on a minor younger than 14, both felonies, and a misdemeanor count of unlawful use of an electronic tracking device.
Salazar was accused of attacking the girl Monday, according to the criminal complaint.
Salazar, who was ordered held without bail, did not enter a plea at his arraignment in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana on Thursday and is scheduled to enter a plea Tuesday in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
Salazar is a roommate of the girl’s mother and has been a longtime acquaintance of the family, police said.
