A motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition after a crash in San Jacinto Sunday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced.

The crash was reported just before 10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of San Jacinto Avenue and Midway Street.

Responding deputies reported that a motorcycle and an SUV crashed at the intersection. The motorcyclist was treated on scene by paramedics before being transported to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, but a passenger was taken to a hospital for precautionary measures, the sheriff’s department announced.

The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team assumed the investigation and determined that the motorcycle was southbound on San Jacinto approaching Midway as the SUV was westbound on Midway, crossing San Jacinto when they collided.

The SUV driver remained on scene, and investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

The identities of the people involved were not immediately available.

San Jacinto between Commonwealth and East Menlo avenues was closed for investigation. Anyone with additional information regarding the crash was encouraged to contact Deputy Cortez at 951-654-2702 or the Riverside Sheriff’s Dispatch at 951-776-1099.
