A 13-year-old boy killed in the crash of a pocket bike in Lancaster was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Darrin Jackson.

Darrin was knocked off the pocket bike when it struck a Subaru headed eastbound on Lancaster Boulevard at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.’

Darrin was heading southbound on 32nd Street West on the small, motorcycle-style vehicle designed primarily for recreational use when he failed to stop at a stop sign, then collided with the Subaru, authorities said.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Ryan Ament.
