Traffic investigators from the Lancaster sheriffâs station Monday asked for any witnesses to come forward in the case of a fatal crash involving a boy on a pocket bike.
Investigators said a man driving a Subaru was traveling eastbound on Lancaster Boulevard at 1:45 p.m. Sunday when his vehicle was hit by the pocket bike, which is small, motorcycle-style vehicle designed primarily for recreational use.
The pocket bike was moving south on 32nd Street West and reportedly failed to stop at the posted stop sign on the road. The boy rider, whose age was not immediately available, was ejected from the bike, investigators said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Detective Ryan Ament of the Lancaster Station.
Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact the traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriffâs Station at 661-948-8466.
