A 39-year-old man whose body was discovered near the Artesia (91) Freeway in Carson died of blunt trauma, the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner announced Monday.

California Highway Patrol officers were contacted around 4:15 p.m. Saturday about the body near the westbound freeway and the Avalon Boulevard exit, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

The man was identified as 39-year-old John Nabours, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. His city of residence was not provided.

While the cause of death was listed as blunt trauma, it was unclear exactly how he died or if he had been struck by a vehicle.
