A 25-year-old Temecula resident suspected in a shooting that left two people injured remained in custody Monday.
Terrance Sherman was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting that occurred around 1:45 a.m. that day in the 27000 block of Jefferson Avenue in Temecula, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department statement.
Deputies who responded to the shooting found two men with gunshot wounds, and both were taken to a hospital, where they were considered stable as of Monday morning.
Deputies were able to pinpoint a suspect vehicle, and later located it and arrested the driver — Sherman, according to the sheriff’s department.
Sheriff’s officials said the shooting was connected to an altercation that occurred in a Jefferson Avenue parking lot. Sherman allegedly discharged a firearm from inside his vehicle as he was leaving and injured the two men.
Sherman was being held in lieu of $1 million bail at Murrieta’s Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder and felony firearm possession, according to inmate records.
