A Silver Alert is in effect Thursday in Los Angeles County on behalf of a 83-year-old man last seen in Monrovia.

David Mendoza was last seen about 6:30 a.m. Thursday on foot in Monrovia, according to the California Highway Patrol. He may have been at an area McDonald’s restaurant, according to a Monrovia Police Department dispatcher.

Mendoza was described as Lationo. He is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 155 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He last seen wearing a gray hat, brown jacket, gray pants and gray shoes.

Anyone with information regarding Mendoza’s whereabouts was urged to call 911 or the Monrovia Police Department at 626-256-8000.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
