A 33-year-old man pleaded not guilty Friday to abusing two babies in La Habra.

Jorge Alberto Navarro Rico was accused of hurting the babies between Oct. 31 and Feb. 9, according to the criminal complaint.

One baby suffered right and left arm fractures, according to the complaint. The other baby had a bite mark on the face as well as fractures to a rib, clavicle, both elbows, the right wrist, both knees and the left ankle, the complaint alleges.

Rico was charged March 18 with 11 felony counts of child abuse and endangerment with sentencing enhancements for causing great bodily injury on a child younger than 5.

Rico denied the charges at his arraignment Friday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. Rico, who was denied bail, was scheduled to return to court April 8 for a pretrial hearing in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.

Further details were not immediately available as police and prosecutors did not respond to messages.
