California Highway Patrol officers are continuing their investigation Friday of the fatal shooting of a man on a freeway connector road in South Los Angeles.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. He was later identified by the Medical Examiner’s office as 34-year-old Los Angeles resident Simon Castellanos.

CHP officers responded at 9:58.p.m. Thursday to the interchange from the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway to the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway regarding a shooting, CHP Officer Ramon Kendricks told City News Service.

Arriving officers found a Toyota Corolla sedan at the scene with its windows shot out, NBC 4 reported.

There are no suspects in the shooting.

NBC 4 reported CHP investigators believe it was a car-to-car shooting.

All lanes of both freeways reopened just after 5 a.m. Friday.
