A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metrolink train in North Hollywood Wednesday.

The train struck the unidentified person around 11:10 a.m. Wednesday near the 7000 block of North Tujunga Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

There was no immediate description of the pedestrian or what led to the person being struck.

Fire officials said 33 passengers were on the train, but no injuries were reported.

The Metrolink tracks between Burbank and Van Nuys were shut down while an investigation was conducted, leading to some trip cancellations by the regional rail service.
