A man was wounded in Long Beach and was uncooperative with police investigating the shooting, authorities said Saturday.
Officers dispatched at about 8:35 p.m. Friday to an assault with deadly weapon call in the 300 block of 17th Street contacted the victim, who had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
He refused to cooperate with officers and paramedics took him to a hospital, police said.
The circumstances and motive for the shooting were under investigation.
