The forward progress of a small vegetation fire was stopped near the Littlerock neighborhood of the Antelope Valley Sunday.
Personnel responded to a report of a half-acre backyard fire near the intersection of East Avenue S-8 and 92nd Street East, around 2:40 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The fire grew to around five acres before the forward progress was halted around 3:35 p.m., the department added.
No injuries were immediately reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
