Firefighters worked Saturday from the air and on the ground to contain a small brush fire in the Studio City area of Los Angeles.
The fire was reported at 3:36 p.m. Saturday in the 3100 block of South Coldwater Canyon Avenue, south of Mulholland Drive, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Forward progress was stopped at 4:42 p.m. with the fire held to about two remote acres in or near Fryman Canyon Park.
“Los Angeles County Fire Department camp crews are responding to assist with the mop up operations,” Stewart said. “No structures damaged and no injuries reported. Firefighters will be on scene for an extended period, ensuring no hot spots remain in the isolated terrain.”
One man was detained in the area of the fire but he was questioned and released, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jeff Lee.
