A homeless woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the Florence area of South Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.
The crash was reported at 10:05 p.m. Sunday at 85th and Main streets, a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center told City News Service.
The vehicle was northbound on Main Street when it struck the woman who was crossing 85th Street outside of the crosswalk, he said. The driver remained at the scene.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.
