Authorities Tuesday continued their investigation into a juvenile who was arrested for allegedly brandishing a weapon during a barricade situation in Palm Desert.
Deputies responded shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday to a residence in the 40000 block of Ventana Court regarding a person armed with a knife and barricaded inside, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect was experiencing a mental health crisis, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers.
After hours of negotiations, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, authorities said.
No injuries were reported.
The identity of the juvenile was not revealed due to the person’s age.
