Detectives sought the public’s help Friday in finding a driver who left the scene after striking and fatally injuring a pedestrian in South Los Angeles.
A woman in her 30s was struck at about 9:20 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Figueroa and 115th Streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The vehicle that hit her was going northbound on Figueroa and the driver did not stop as required, instead continuing north, police said.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
Anyone with information about the fatal collision was urged to call the LAPD’s South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500 and ask for Officer Noland.
