Police Friday are investigating what they believe is a gang-related shooting where a man was killed in Wilmington.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Division responded at 12:15 a.m. Friday to Wilmington Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway where they learned the victim, who was traveling in a vehicle with five others, had been shot multiple times by an unknown assailant, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was found unconscious by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The department’s South Bureau Homicide Division will in charge of the shooting investigation.
