A 38-year-old man who was struck and killed by a train at a Metro station in South Los Angeles was identified by authorities Tuesday.
Officers responded around 7:09 a.m. Monday to the 4300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard following reports of a man who had fallen onto the tracks at the Leimert Park Station and was run over by a train, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Firefighters found a deceased man on the tracks, according to Lyndsey Lantz of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Tuesday identified the victim as Hampton Calvin.
It was not clear how he ended up on the tracks.
