An arson investigation is underway after a string of rubbish fires were set Wednesday morning in Boyle Heights.
One of the fires, reported at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Soto Street, near First Street, spread from outside into a detached garage and was knocked down by 6 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
It was one of a handful of rubbish fires set in the span of little more than an hour, all in the same district, according to the LAFD.
Another fire was reported at 7:10 a.m. at 530 N. Sloat St.
An arson investigator was dispatched to investigate the blaze and any possible connection to the others, a department spokeswoman said.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the fires.
